Today I ask ‘To exercise in trainers or bare feet’
I have noticed that Exercising in bare feet has become much more popular during lockdown so I thought I would look into this trend.
There is no real conclusive evidence on the subject. Experts recognise there are benefits and drawbacks to both and more research is needed.
Whilst we work out in the virtual world at home some of the drawbacks are greatly reduced as you have control over the area you are exercising in. However if you plan to exercise barefoot you do so at your own risk. So do research prior to having a go and ensure it is appropriate for both you and the type of workout you are participating in.
A word of caution, it is not advisable to exercise barefoot if you suffer from Diabetes osteopenia or osteoporosis. Also caution should be taken for those with arthritis or any structural foot problems.
